In 2008, International Metropolis placed second in the Canada Blog Awards “Best local blog” category, a Canada wide publicly voted contest. Foot’s blog features a section known as “Lost Windsor” which highlights architectural gems lost either to disaster or demolition. Foot has been posting regularly for years which gives the blog reader access to a wealth of well researched historical information. Many architects and historians who, when asked about a heritage building, use Foot’s International Metropolis as a jumping off point.

Not just content with cataloging Windsor’s architectural history, Foot has sought to preserve it by serving on the City’s Heritage Standing Committee for many years. He is the author of the highly successful and popular “Windsor Then and Now,” a catalog of Windsor’s changing face which was published by Biblioasis and released in 2021.
