Our Jury
Every year we invite a different group of heritage professionals to scrutinize all of our nominations and select our award recipients. The jury is completely independent of ACO and makes its own award decisions.

Carol Kleinfeldt is Principal Architect at Kleinfeldt Mychajlowycz Architects in Toronto.

Sarah Morris is a community leader based in Windsor, Ontario. She is the organizer of the Windsor-Essex Jane’s Walk Festival, one of the largest in Canada. Sarah won the ACO’s Public Education and Engagement Award in 2024 for her work with the festival. She is passionate about storytelling, community, and preservation.

Will Teron leads Tacoma Engineers heritage restoration and structural investigation group. He has been involved in the assessment, analysis and preservation of hundreds of heritage landmark properties where the fusion of hard engineering science, construction knowledge and heritage conservation techniques is critical to developing holistic solutions. Notable projects include restoration of Guelph’s Basilica of Our Lady Immaculate, Elora’s Drill Hall and Hamilton’s Gage House (all National Historic Sites of Canada).

Doug Vickers is a Faculty member at Willowbank School of Restoration Arts, teaching Heritage Carpentry, Heritage Paint & Heritage Flooring. Doug’s journey in restoration began in 1981 when he moved an 1850s house from Tillsonburg to rural Ancaster. He soon began his own business and hired a wood machinist who learned his trade in England. Some of their projects included dismantling and relocating houses in Southern Ontario. Their specialty became manufacturing doors, shutters, mantles, and bookcases for period homes.
